Medi-Midi

Narrative : If you have ever roller or ice skated, or if you were very lucky, skied, then you know you have to move your balance from left foot to right foot. This is called gait control. The Medi Mid device can use foot pressure pads (borrowed from alarm system technology) to detect the left to right shift. The Medi-MiDI gives acoustic reinforcement to the physical movement. Alternatively, something similar can be done with fingers .

This device is aimed at supporting objective outcomes by "data logging".

There is a software metronome built into the base station. A patient can be set a task. E.g. A stroke victim can start out with a single beat against the metronome. More complex patterns can be engaged via the finger drums. These can then be data logged via a linear study and exporting via Processing or Matlab. Code in PDF format.
